About the Role

We are seeking a customer-focused Data Storage Solution Engineer to join a growing enterprise technology team. This is a highly visible pre-sales role responsible for engaging with customers, understanding their business and technical challenges, and recommending enterprise storage and data centre solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.

Working closely with sales and account teams, you will act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the pre-sales lifecycle, supporting solution design, customer presentations, proof of concepts, and technical discussions. This role requires a blend of robust storage technology expertise, commercial awareness, and excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Engage directly with enterprise customers to understand business objectives, technical requirements, and infrastructure challenges.
- Design and recommend enterprise storage and data centre solutions aligned with customer needs.
- Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and solution briefings.
- Lead and support Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and technical evaluations.
- Translate complex technical concepts into business value propositions for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with sales and account management teams to identify opportunities and support revenue growth.
- Provide technical expertise during customer meetings, RFP responses, and solution discussions.
- Develop trusted relationships with customer stakeholders and key decision-makers.
- Support the end-to-end pre-sales process, from opportunity qualification through to solution recommendation.
- Stay informed of emerging storage, data centre, and infrastructure technologies and industry trends.

Required Skills & Experience

- Experience in a Pre-Sales Engineer, Solution Engineer, Systems Engineer, Storage Specialist, or related customer-facing technical role.




- Strong knowledge of enterprise storage technologies and architectures.
- Experience with data centre infrastructure and enterprise IT environments.
- Hands-on experience with storage solutions from vendors such as:NetApp
- Dell EMC
- HPE
- Proven ability to conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations.
- Experience running PoCs and supporting technical evaluations.
- Strong customer engagement, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with sales teams to support business development initiatives.
- Commercially minded with a strong customer-centric approach.
- Strong problem-solving and solution design capabilities.

Highly Desirable

- Experience supporting customers within: Mining
- Oil & Gas
- Utilities
- Telecommunications
- Regional and remote connectivity projects
- Exposure to private 4G/5G network solutions.
- Experience working in enterprise infrastructure, storage modernization, cloud storage, or hybrid data centre environments.
- Understanding of backup, disaster recovery, data protection, and business continuity solutions.
