About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and relationship-focused Development Coordinator to support and coordinate community income development activities, including, regular donations and bequests.

Working closely with the Director of Community Engagement and key members of the School community, you will help build and strengthen relationships with donors, alumni and the wider community. You will also play an important role in supporting fundraising initiatives, community events and the effective management of development systems and databases.

This is a .65 part-time fixed-term position, with an opportunity to work across approximately 3 to 4 days per week. Some attendance at significant School and community events outside regular working hours will be required.

Key Focus Areas

- Coordinate fundraising and planned giving initiatives.
- Research and maintain donor and prospect databases to support fundraising activities.
- Develop and manage an ongoing bequests program and maintain records of bequest intentions.
- Build strong, positive relationships with donors,



alumni and the wider School community.
- Support donor acknowledgement, recognition and reporting to ensure a high-quality supporter experience.
- Assist with fundraising, reunions and community events, including events outside regular hours.
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Mather Endowment Trust and Fundraising Committee.
- Develop effective systems and processes to support long-term community engagement and income development.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, development, planned giving or a similar relationship-focused environment.
- Experience building and maintaining positive relationships with a diverse community and the general public.
- Highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with strong diplomacy and tact.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and optimise database systems and manage information effectively.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience supervising staff or overseeing work tasks and processes is desirable.
- Understanding of the 10 National Child Safe Standards.
- Ability to work safely and effectively within a school environment.
- Commitment to the School’s Purpose, Concerns and Ethos.
- Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People registration (employment), or eligibility to obtain one.
- Flexibility to attend occasional events outside standard working hours.
