Role Description The DevOps Engineer will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines for The Insilico Lab’s applications. This part-time, remote role involves building and managing Infrastructure as Code configurations, setting up and improving Continuous Integration workflows, and maintaining Linux-based systems used in development and production environments.

The DevOps Engineer will collaborate with software developers to streamline releases, improve observability, and ensure reliable, secure operation of services. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting infrastructure issues, optimizing performance, implementing automation for routine operations, and documenting processes and configurations. The role also includes contributing to best practices around security, monitoring, and scalability in a remote, distributed team setting.

Qualifications

- Solid System Administration experience, particularly with Linux, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.




- Hands-on proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and workflows to define, version, and automate infrastructure.
- Experience with Continuous Integration practices and tools to build, test, and deploy software reliably.
- Solid Software Development fundamentals to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and understand application lifecycles.
- Familiarity with containerization, orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is beneficial.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and tooling is preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage part-time hours effectively, and communicate clearly in English.
- Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in DevOps or site reliability engineering.
