The Opportunity
This role provides an opportunity to help shape and expand Byrne Consultants’ digital engineering capability. You will work across a diverse range of civil infrastructure and development projects, with a strong focus on:
· GIS mapping and spatial analysis
· 3D visualisation, renders and animations
· Fly-through and drive-through presentations
· BIM modelling and digital coordination
· Innovative ways to communicate project designs and outcomes
You will work closely with engineers, designers and project managers to transform technical information into accurate, practical and visually engaging digital outputs.
The Company
We are a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering and design consultancy. We are known for delivering high-quality engineering and project management services, with our work including urban and regional land development, housing and civil infrastructure for private and public sector clients.
Our Digital Engineering team supports project planning, design, coordination and stakeholder engagement through GIS, BIM, spatial data, 3D modelling and advanced visualisation.
Key Responsibilities
You will prepare digital engineering outputs that improve project understanding, design coordination and decision-making. Key responsibilities include:
· Preparing professional GIS maps, spatial datasets and project mapping
· Preparing high-level 3D models from 2D drawings for use as inputs to the visualisations.
· Producing 3D renders, animations, fly-throughs and drive-throughs
· Developing visualisations to communicate proposed designs, construction staging and project outcomes
· Creating and maintaining BIM and digital engineering models
· Integrating engineering, survey, GIS and project data into coordinated digital environments
· Using platforms such as ArcGIS, and software such as Autodesk Revit,
Twinmotion and 12d model
· Supporting interactive mapping, , dashboards and web-based project interfaces
· Working with engineers and designers to ensure digital outputs accurately represent the approved design
· Preparing visual material for client presentations, stakeholder engagement and tender submissions
· Maintaining model, mapping and data standards in accordance with client and company requirements
Key Skills & Attributes
You will ideally have
· A tertiary qualification in digital engineering, BIM, GIS, spatial science, engineering, architecture, design or a related discipline; or substantial relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
· At least two years of experience in digital engineering, GIS, BIM, spatial mapping or project visualisation
· Experience preparing GIS maps, 3D models, rendered imagery, animations, fly-throughs or drive-throughs
· Proficiency in ArcGIS or a comparable GIS platform
· Experience with software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Civil 3D or 12d Model
Experience with Unreal Engine, Unity, Twinmotion, Lumion or similar visualisation platforms
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, survey information, spatial data and digital models
· Strong technical, spatial and visual communication skills
· Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
· A collaborative, adaptable and client-focused approach
