The Little Cottage in Carlton is excited to be opening under new management following extensive renovations, a complete refurbishment and a renewed vision for the service. As we prepare to welcome our first families, we are seeking passionate Diploma Qualified Educators, Certificate III Educators and Trainees to join our team. We are looking for educators who are passionate about early childhood education, place children at the centre of everything they do, and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of education, care, compliance and professional practice.
About the Role
As an Educator at The Little Cottage, you will play an important role in providing a safe, nurturing and engaging workplace where children can learn, grow and thrive. Working collaboratively with the team, you will contribute to the delivery of meaningful learning experiences while ensuring the service operates in accordance with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive, respectful and meaningful relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Support the planning and implementation of educational programs in accordance with the approved learning framework.
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing and best interests of every child remain the highest priority.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and welcoming learning environment.
- Work in accordance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS), the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, and all service policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate observations and documentation where required.
- Contribute positively to a collaborative, respectful and professional team culture.
- Support continuous improvement and ongoing quality practice across the service.
About You

Essential Requirements
- Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA approved equivalent), and/or a desire to join our centre as a Trainee.
- Current NSW Working With Children Check.
- Current National Police Check.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
- Current approved Child Protection training in accordance with NSW requirements.
- Current Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk of Harm training.
- Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS), and Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
- All mandatory qualifications, training and clearances kept current and up to date.
Desirable
- Food Handler Certificate.
- Previous experience in an early childhood education and care setting.
- Knowledge of OWNA or similar childcare management software.
