Director – Business Development | Digital Forensics & Incident Response

Melbourne | Full-time | Permanent The Opportunity

Infotrust is expanding its Digital Forensics, Incident Response and eDiscovery practice, creating an opportunity for an established business development leader to take a significant role in its next stage of growth.

Based in Melbourne and reporting directly to the EGM of Consulting & ForensicIT, the mandate is national and genuinely market-facing: build new strategic relationships, open underpenetrated markets and strengthen Infotrust’s position across the legal, insurance and enterprise sectors.

The practice sits at the intersection of cyber security, investigations, litigation and risk. Client engagements are often complex and highly sensitive - from cyber breach response and digital investigations through to disputes, regulatory matters, eDiscovery and the management of digital evidence.

This creates a particularly interesting proposition for someone with an established professional network and a background in Big Four, legal, consulting, forensic technology, eDiscovery or adjacent professional services. There is an existing specialist capability behind the role, alongside the broader scale of Infotrust’s cyber security practice, with considerable scope to shape how that capability is taken to market.

Deep technical expertise is not essential. The value of the role lies in commercial judgement, market credibility and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, recognise where a client has a problem worth solving and connect that need with the right specialist expertise.

Key Responsibilities

- Shape and execute the growth strategy for Digital Forensics, Incident Response, eDiscovery and related cyber advisory services.
- Develop senior relationships across law firms, insurers and large enterprise organisations, including Partners, General Counsel, C-suite executives and senior risk, compliance and corporate affairs stakeholders.
- Identify and develop recent opportunities arising from cyber incidents, litigation, disputes, regulatory investigations,

digital evidence and eDiscovery requirements.
- Build Infotrust’s presence in new and underpenetrated markets through established networks, targeted relationship development, market intelligence and industry engagement.
- Lead complex opportunities from initial engagement through solution development, commercial negotiation and close.
- Partner with forensic, incident response and cyber specialists to bring the right expertise into client conversations and develop solutions aligned to the circumstances of each engagement.
- Build a visible and credible presence for Infotrust and ForensicIT across relevant legal, insurance, regulatory and industry networks.
- Maintain clear commercial oversight of pipeline, forecasting, revenue and margin performance.

Experience & Capability The background may come from qualified services, legal, consulting, forensic technology, eDiscovery, cyber security or another sophisticated B2B services environment. More important than a particular career path is established market credibility and evidence of developing senior relationships into meaningful commercial partnerships.

- A strong track record in business development, strategic sales, client development or relationship management within a complex professional services environment.
- Established relationships across the legal, insurance and/or large enterprise market.
- Credibility engaging at Partner, General Counsel and executive level, including in commercially sensitive or high-stakes situations.
- Demonstrated success originating new relationships and developing them into sustainable revenue.
- Strong commercial judgement and experience navigating longer, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
- The ability to understand complex client circumstances,

identify where specialist services can add value and bring together the right subject matter expertise.
- Highly developed communication, influencing, negotiation and presentation capability.
- Exposure to Digital Forensics, Incident Response, eDiscovery, investigations or cyber security is highly regarded, although technical practitioner experience is not required.

Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required, together with the flexibility to travel within Australia when needed. A Baseline Australian Government Security Clearance or higher would be advantageous.
