Ballarat Support Services
Ballarat
Ballarat Support Services is a fast-growing, locally owned NDIS-registered provider delivering high-quality, structured supports across Ballarat. We are no longer a small start-up team — we now operate multiple dedicated hubs, including:
- A purpose-built Day Program hub
- A High-Intensity Support Hub (robust design, structured environment)
- Community-based 1:1 supports across Ballarat and surrounds
We are building something sustainable, professional and long-term — and we are looking for the right people to grow with us.
The Role
This is not passive support work. We are looking for proactive, confident Disability Support Workers who can take initiative, think critically, and provide structured, safe, person-centred support.
You will work across a mix of:
Community-Based 1:1 Supports

Hub-Based Day Programs
- Supporting participants in small structured groups
- Facilitating activities (cooking, fitness, community access, skill building)
- Maintaining professional documentation and shift notes
- Supporting participants with higher and complex needs
In-Home Supports
- Personal care (where required)
- Domestic assistance
- Skill-building and routine development
- Supporting independence in daily living
Weekend & Event Supports
- Structured Sunday outings (Zoo, Aquarium, Melbourne events, etc.)
- Community participation programs
- Occasional Short Term Accommodation / respite shifts
What Makes BSS Different
- Structured environments — not chaotic drop-in centres
- Strong leadership & direct communication
- Clear expectations around documentation & professionalism

- Real career progression opportunities
We expect our team to show up professionally, take ownership of their shifts, and genuinely care about participant outcomes.
Hours & Structure
- Mix of weekday, evening and weekend shifts
- Rotating weekend roster
- Chance for permanent part-time or casual
- Consistent, structured rosters
- Growing hours as the organisation expands
Essential Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Reliable vehicle (kilometres reimbursed where applicable)
- First Aid & CPR (current)
- Experience in disability, mental health or high-intensity supports preferred
- Confidence managing behaviours and maintaining boundaries
What We Offer
Professional Growth
- Ongoing training
- Behaviour support strategy education
- Leadership pathway opportunities
Stability
- Consistent participants

Impact
- You will work in environments designed to reduce triggers
- You will be part of building safe, robust support systems
- You will help participants develop real independence
Who We’re Looking For
You will suit this role if you:
- Take initiative rather than waiting for instruction
- Communicate clearly and directly
- Can manage challenging situations calmly
- Are comfortable in structured, high-expectation environments
- Want to grow with an expanding organisation
If you are looking for “easy shifts” or minimal responsibility, this role won’t suit you. If you want to be part of building something strong, professional and meaningful in Ballarat — we want to hear from you.
