Role Description The Disability Support Worker will be professional, flexible, and willing to travel within their respective areas.
Kangaroo
Care currently has vacancies based out of Brisbane and the surrounding areas. In this role, the worker provides daily living assistance, personal care, and mobility support to participants, helping them maintain independence and wellbeing.
Responsibilities include implementing individualized support plans, monitoring participant health and behavior, and documenting progress and incidents accurately. The worker collaborates with clinical staff, families, and support coordinators, supports participants during appointments and community activities, and promotes safe, respectful, and inclusive environments.
The role also involves following safeguarding and NDIS standards, responding to changes in participant needs, and contributing to continuous improvement of care.
Qualifications Demonstrated experience as a disability or support worker, with a strong understanding of person-centered care and NDIS frameworks.
Solid interpersonal skills and communication abilities to build trust, support diverse participants, and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of safeguarding principles and commitment to upholding participant rights, safety, dignity, and confidentiality.
Ability to provide basic technical support related to assistive technologies and electronic care documentation systems.
Relevant qualification in disability support, community services, nursing, or a related field (Certificate III/IV or higher preferred).
Current First Aid and CPR certification, valid driver’s license, and ability to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings as required.
NDIS Worker Screening Check and other compliance checks as mandated by local regulations.
