We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team in Lalor, VIC.
Available Shifts
- Thursday: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Sunday: 11:00 PM – 9:00 AM (Active Night Shift)
This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable support worker looking for consistent weekly shifts within a supportive team environment.
About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to participants living in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home. You will assist participants with daily living activities while promoting independence, dignity, and community participation.
This role involves supporting participants with complex behaviours, so previous experience in this area is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality personal care and daily living support.
- Support participants with complex behaviours using positive behaviour support strategies.
- Assist with meal preparation, household tasks, and maintaining a clean and safe home.
- Administer medications in accordance with organisational policies.
- Support participants to access the community and participate in meaningful activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and incident reports.
- Work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals, and the wider support team.
- Promote participant choice, independence, and quality of life.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience supporting participants with complex behaviours (essential).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate, patient, and professional approach.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Ageing Support, or equivalent.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Current National Police Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Medication Administration Certificate.
- Current Driver Licence, reliable vehicle, registration, and comprehensive car insurance.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
- NDIS Infection Prevention and Control Module.
- Manual handling experience.
- Australian work rights.
