About the Program

The Youth Transitional Hub provides culturally responsive support to at-risk young people through case management, diversion activities, outreach support, and safe overnight accommodation. The program supports young people by providing a safe and supportive environment where they can build positive connections, develop life skills, access appropriate services, and receive guidance to improve their wellbeing and future opportunities. Through strong partnerships with families, community organisations, schools, health services, and justice agencies, the program aims to reduce engagement with anti-social behaviours and support young people to make positive choices.

About the Role

The Diversionary Service Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering diversionary programs that support young people to build life skills, strengthen community connections, and reduce engagement with anti-social behaviours. This role will oversee diversion activities, provide case management support, coordinate staff and volunteers,



engage with key stakeholders, and ensure program outcomes are effectively monitored and reported. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating safe, culturally responsive, and meaningful opportunities for young people accessing the Youth Transitional Hub.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement diversionary programs, activities, and after-school programs that support young people’s development and wellbeing
- Coordinate, supervise, and support diversionary staff and volunteers
- Build positive and respectful relationships with at-risk young people and their families
- Provide case management support in collaboration with the Case Management Coordinator
- Engage with internal services and external agencies, including Police, schools, health services, and community organisations
- Monitor attendance, outcomes, and program effectiveness
- Maintain accurate case notes, data entry, reporting, and compliance requirements
- Provide culturally safe, trauma-informed support to young people and their families
- Promote a safe and supportive environment within the Youth Transitional Hub
- Maintain Work Health and Safety standards, confidentiality, and professional boundaries at all times

About You

You will have:

- Tertiary qualifications in Child,



Youth and Family Intervention (or currently studying)
- Experience working with at-risk young people and vulnerable communities
- Experience in case management, youth support, or community services
- Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and culturally appropriate service delivery
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to build robust relationships with young people, families, and community stakeholders
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Current Blue Card and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
