Due to ongoing operational requirements, they are seeking an experienced Drill Fitter to join their maintenance team on a long-term FIFO assignment.
About the Role
WorkPac is currently seeking an experienced Drill Fitter to join a site maintenance team supporting a Caterpillar drill fleet in a remote mining environment. This is a predominantly field-based role suited to a self-motivated tradesperson who can work independently while maintaining high safety and workmanship standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, fault finding, breakdown repairs, and planned maintenance on CAT 6250 and CAT 6310 drill rigs. This role requires extensive Caterpillar drill experience, including feed cylinder replacement, boom removal, and field-based mechanical repairs.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Carry out servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on CAT 6250 and CAT 6310 drill rigs.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns.
Complete planned maintenance and emergency repair work across site.
Change feed cylinders and remove/install drill booms.
Conduct field-based maintenance activities with minimal supervision.
Complete maintenance documentation and inspection records.
Maintain a safe work environment and comply with site safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to maximise equipment availability.
Skills & Experience Required
Trade qualification (Cert III Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent).
Proven experience maintaining CAT 6250 and CAT 6310 drill rigs.
Minimum 4–5 years' experience working on Caterpillar drill equipment.
Experience changing feed cylinders and removing drill booms.
Strong fault-finding and breakdown repair skills.
Current Manual C Class Driver's Licence.
Ability to work independently in a field-based maintenance role.
Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol Screening.
Full Australian working rights.
Please note: Candidates without demonstrated CAT 6250 and CAT 6310 drill maintenance experience will not be considered.
