We are urgently seeking an Electrical Trainer & Assessor, with experience in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (HVAC) being highly desirable. Candidates who are qualified in both trades are especially encouraged to apply.

About the Role

As a Trainer & Assessor, you’ll combine your practical industry experience with teaching and mentoring to help students become competent, confident tradespeople.

You’ll deliver both classroom and workshop-based training, assess student competency, and create an engaging learning environment where students feel supported and challenged to succeed.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

- Current Australian Electrical Licence and/or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Licence.
- Several years of hands-on industry experience.
- Strong technical knowledge and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for mentoring and developing the next generation of tradespeople.
- Patient, approachable, and able to explain technical concepts in a practical, easy-to-understand way.
- Flexible and supportive,



with a commitment to helping students succeed regardless of their learning style.

Training Qualification:

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) is preferred.

Don’t have your TAE yet?

No problem.

If you’re the right person with the right attitude and industry experience, we’ll support you in obtaining your Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, allowing you to transition into a rewarding career in vocational education.

What You’ll Do

- Deliver engaging practical and theory-based training.
- Assess student competency against nationally recognised standards.
- Mentor apprentices and mature-age students.
- Teach not only how to perform tasks, but why they are performed that way by helping students understand the underlying principles and concepts.
- Provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate training and assessment records.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our training programs.

A Great Opportunity to Transition into Training

If you’ve never trained before, that’s perfectly okay.

We understand that moving from industry into teaching is a big transition.

To help you build confidence, you’ll initially have the opportunity to work weekend workshops, allowing you to gain exposure to training in a supportive environment while learning from our experienced team.





As your confidence and experience grow, you’ll have the opportunity to take on additional training days and increased weekly hours.

This gradual pathway allows you to develop your skills as a trainer while continuing your existing work commitments if you choose.

Employment Options & Rates

We offer flexible engagement options:

Casual Employment

- $85 per hour Superannuation

Contractor Arrangement

- $100 per hour
