About the role:

We are excited to offer opportunities for Emerging Future Shapers to join Orica’s Summer Internship Program, supporting our Orebody Intelligence Production, Supply & Reliability team.

The available placements support Engineering & Reliability, and Software & Business Systems activities. Depending on relevant team requirements and your academic background, you may support equipment and reliability work or contribute to the improvement of systems, processes and information used by the team.

These internships provide the opportunity to learn in an operationally connected setting, work alongside experienced professionals and see how engineering, technology and reliable processes come together to support our business.

The internships will be based in Welshpool, Perth, with placements aligned to team requirements and relevant academic backgrounds.

What you will be doing:

Engineering & Reliability

- Support engineering, maintenance and reliability-improvement activities across relevant equipment or systems.
- Assist with inspections, data gathering, fault investigation and the documentation of findings.
- Contribute to practical improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability and operational performance.
- Work with technical stakeholders to understand equipment needs and support agreed project actions.

Software & Business Systems

- Support the review and improvement of business systems, workflows and information used by the team.
- Assist with process mapping, requirements gathering, data validation,



reporting and documentation.
- Help identify opportunities to improve usability, consistency and efficiency.
- Collaborate with users and technical stakeholders to translate business needs into practical solutions.

What you will bring:

- For Engineering & Reliability: currently completing a qualification in Electrical, Mechatronics or Electronics Engineering, or a related technical trade or discipline.
- For Software & Business Systems: currently completing a Software, Information Technology or Business degree; a Business Systems major is preferred.
- An interest in reliability, operational improvement, technology or business-process improvement.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with operational and technical stakeholders.
- A commitment to safety, inclusion and respectful ways of working.
- Availability to participate for the full Summer Internship Program period and to work from the advertised location.
