You'll join one of Australia's leading consumer technology businesses, whose platforms are used by millions of Australians every day. Alongside its established consumer business sits a fast-growing commercial division entering its next phase of growth.

Historically, much of the technology direction has been driven globally. The business is now investing in local engineering leadership, giving this role genuine ownership to shape the Australian technology roadmap and influence how the platform evolves locally.

You'll lead a lean engineering team of four, operating as a Mini CTO for the business unit - balancing technology, product and commercial thinking while helping launch recent products, expand platform capabilities and build the engineering function over time.

The Role

- Built for a strong Senior Tech Lead or Engineering Manager looking for broader ownership across technology, product and commercial strategy.
- Lead a high-performing engineering team while remaining close enough to engineering to influence architecture, mentor the team and guide key technical decisions.
- Partner directly with senior Product, Commercial and Sales stakeholders, helping shape business strategy as much as technical direction.
- Small by design, not by accident. You'll build the foundations for a growing business before the engineering function scales.




- Report directly to the VP of Engineering while acting as the technology partner for the Commercial business.
- Play a key role in launching new products, expanding white-label capabilities and delivering large-scale integration initiatives over the next 12–24 months.

What You'll Bring

- Proven technical leadership as a Senior Tech Lead or Engineering Manager, with a track record of setting technical direction and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong commercial acumen and the confidence to influence senior non-technical stakeholders.
- An entrepreneurial mindset, energised by building something from the ground up rather than inheriting a mature function.
- Strong experience with React, .NET and AWS, with the technical credibility to lead architecture and engineering decisions.
- A passion for balancing engineering excellence with customer outcomes and commercial success.
- Ambition to grow into a broader technology leadership role as the business and team continue to scale.
