Maclean seeks to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Electrical Estimator to further expand and develop our EXpress Solution offer to the market. EXpress solutions encompass the assembly and value-added services of Electrical Equipment for Hazardous Areas and Industrial applications. This position is a customer facing role as well as working in the background with our international manufacturers to service the requirements of the Australian market.

Candidates would have current or developing knowledge of IEC 60079 and AS/NZS3000 standards for equipment used in explosive atmospheres and experience with electrical enclosures and related equipment and be able to interpret customer specifications,



line and general arrangement drawings and datasheets.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager you will be a key part of the EXpress Solution team aiding in the growth and market development of our value-added services under our EXpress Solution’s brand supporting the sales and projects team with product assessment and selection ensuring compliance to our customers requests.

The position will include the following functions:

- Prepare outgoing quotations and internal estimates for hazardous area and industrial electrical enclosures and related equipment from customer specifications, drawings and datasheets and ensure design guidelines are met in line with manufacturer standards
- Work with our customers and manufacturers to ensure all design parameters and technical clarifications have been received and form part of the quotation and drawings.
- Build internal cost models, bills of materials for enclosures to ensure costs are captured and maintained.
- Process purchase orders and procurement of components and manage customer communication during the work in progress (WIP) process. Follow document processes to ensure compliance to ISO9001 quality control and assurance.
- Work with the Technical Services Manager and workshop team to ensure designs are practical and commercially viable. Produce basic drawings, where required utilizing manufacturer and third party software.




- Provide technical support to customers, internal sales teams and the projects group.
- Represent the company in a skilled manner to ensure technical competency and compliance to IEC Ex and manufacturer standards for EEHA and industrial equipment.
- To identify, qualify and develop opportunities with a strong focus on the specification to maximize the potential of the Company brands and products aligned to our EXpress Solutions brands.
- Strong attention to detail and work within a team environment.

The Successful Applicant Having previous or current internal sales engineering and/or estimating experience within electrical (EEHA) and Industrial sales markets and knowledge of relevant enclosure products, IEC Ex standards, AS/NZS3000 would be advantageous. Candidates with transferable skill sets from other disciplines may also be considered.

This position requires good communication skills and commercial acumen with the ability to help us to develop our EXpress Solution offer to our market and work with our manufactures of key brands to maximize potential. Solid computer skills with the MS suite and basic drawing experience would be advantageous.

A good level of technical detail is required to ensure all customer requirements and relevant standards are met during the quotation and sales processing stages.

Remuneration includes a competitive base salary and a Company bonus plan, plus the usual working tools. The working environment is based in a lively and modern Wangara based office, assembly workshop and warehousing complex consisting of a knowledgeable and team focused workforce.
