Experienced Cocktail Bartender Wanted – The Metropolitan Hotel
We’re looking for a highly experienced and charismatic cocktail bartender to take ownership of the bar in our newly opened cocktail lounge, located on the middle floor of The Metropolitan Hotel.
Our intimate lounge has a warm, sophisticated jazz-bar atmosphere and serves a premium cocktail offering. We need someone with the knowledge, confidence and personality to deliver an exceptional experience for every guest.
You’ll operate the bar independently, supported by a floor staff member who will assist with taking orders and running drinks. The bar itself—including preparation, service and organisation—will be your domain.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and serving premium cocktails to a consistently high standard
- Confidently making classic and requested cocktails beyond the existing menu
- Completing all bar setup, preparation, cleaning and closing duties
- Managing cash and processing payments accurately
- Maintaining exceptional presentation, cleanliness and organisation
- Providing engaging, polished and entertaining customer service
- Working efficiently and calmly during busy periods
About you:
- Extensive professional cocktail bartending experience
- Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails
- Comfortable operating a bar independently
- Fast, organised and reliable under pressure
- Charismatic, confident and genuinely enjoys engaging with guests
- Excellent attention to detail and presentation
- Current RSA certification
This is not an entry-level position. Successful applicants will be invited to complete a practical trial to demonstrate their cocktail knowledge, technique and service standards. The role will initially be every Thursday and Friday evening, with the opportunity to expand to Wednesday and Saturday evenings. This is a casual position.
