Heavy Metal Fabricator – Contractor

General Steel is looking for an experienced Heavy Metal Fabricator for ongoing contractor work at our Caringbah workshop.

The work includes structural steel fabrication in the workshop, with some site work and installation when required.

The work

- Read and work from shop drawings

- Fabricate and assemble structural steel

- MIG,MMA weld, cut, grind and prepare steel

- Use workshop machinery and power tools

- Assist with site work and installation

- Check your work for quality and accuracy

- Work safely and keep the workshop tidy

What we are looking for

- Solid experience in structural steel fabrication

- Strong welding, cutting and fabrication skills

- Able to read shop drawings

- Reliable and able to work without constant supervision

- Valuable attention to detail

- Able to work well with a small team

- Trade qualified or experienced in the industry

- Valid ABN

The contractor rate will depend on your experience.
