We are seeking an External Services Coordinator to join our team in Port Pirie. This role is critical to the coordination and management of external service contracts, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and commercial requirements. Working closely with contractors and internal stakeholders, you will oversee contractor performance, drive cost efficiencies, and foster a culture of continuous improvement to maximise the value delivered by external service providers.

Key Responsibilities In this dynamic role, you will:
- Service Coordination: Implement and deliver contracted services effectively by maximising productivity, reducing inefficiencies, and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Manage Stakeholder Relationships: Foster healthy and collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders and contractors, acting as the primary point of contact between suppliers and plant representatives.
- Safety & Environmental Compliance: Ensure contractor safety and environmental standards are rigorously managed, and promptly investigate incidents where required.
- Cost Monitoring & Efficiencies: Analyse service costs and identify opportunities for cost reductions, including managing improvement projects and implementing corrective actions.
- Audit & Continuous Improvement: Conduct regular reviews and audits of service delivery to improve quality, reliability, and compliance. Support the business in achieving its continuous improvement goals.
- Training & Development: Support corporate safety audits and work closely with contractors to upskill them in meeting compliance and operational goals.
About You To thrive in this role, you will need the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in managing or supporting major contracts.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of SAP operating systems for tracking and managing data.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills, including verbal and written.
- Influencing and negotiation skills, enabling you to achieve results and develop strong relationships.
- Strong problem-solving and lateral thinking capabilities.
Desirable Skills & Experiences:
- Certificate IV in Frontline Management (highly regarded).
- Experience working onsite at Nyrstar Port Pirie or a similar industrial environment.
- Familiarity with maintenance planning or project management practices.
- Proficiency in reporting data using Excel or other tracking tools.
Key Stakeholders & Relationships In this role, you will collaborate with:
- Internal Teams: External Services Superintendent, Procurement Manager, Operations Managers, Asset Management Representatives, Finance, Safety, Hygiene, and Environment Teams, and Purchasing Teams.
- External Partners: Contract service providers delivering services to Nyrstar’s Port Pirie site.
