The Role
Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Facilities Assistant / Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and well-presented setting across a large semi-rural property.
Key responsibilities include
- Performing routine cleaning, maintenance, and general handyman tasks to keep Fina buildings, equipment, and facilities in excellent condition.
- Maintaining gardens, grounds, and outdoor areas, including landscaping and general groundskeeping duties.
- Assisting with the cleaning & detailing, and basic maintenance of the Fina vehicle fleet.
- Supporting facilities and maintenance projects as directed by the Facility Manager.
- Helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients, staff, and visitors.
Your Experience To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, gardening,
or landscaping across varying conditions and locations.
- Experience in facilities maintenance or a similar hands-on role.
- Practical knowledge of general maintenance and handyman tasks.
- Experience with basic appliance maintenance and manual handling tasks, including moving furniture.
- The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
- A proactive approach to identifying and reporting maintenance or safety issues.
- A strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- Experience working in residential, community, or care-based environments (desirable).
- Exposure to working environments with high-needs disabled people.
- Confidence using mobile apps and email to manage assigned tasks.

- A good level of physical fitness, with the ability to work outdoors across multiple locations.
- Strong safety awareness.
- Competency in the safe use and maintenance of power and hand tools.
- A current Australian Driver Licence.
- A current NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card), or the ability to obtain one.
- A current Working with Children (Blue Card), or the ability to obtain one.
- The ability to tow and manoeuvre a trailer (desirable).
- A customer-focused approach and can-do attitude.
