Participant Overview (De-Identified)

The participant requiring support lives with multiple complex medical and psychosocial conditions, including mental health diagnoses and physical mobility impairments. They use a wheelchair, require full assistance with daily activities, and benefit from consistent, structured, and proactive support.

Support Schedule Requirements

Weekly Support Needs:

- Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Saturday: 4 hours (versatile timing)
- Additional weekly evenings:
- Tuesday: 5:00pm – 9:30pm
- Fortnightly Monday & Thursday: 5:00pm – 9:30pm

Support workers must be reliable and committed to maintaining routine. Key Responsibilities Daily Living & Personal Support

- Provide full physical assistance with daily activities, grooming, and mobility.
- Assist with transfers and wheelchair handling (must be able to lift/secure wheelchair into car).

Community Access

- Support the participant to engage in shopping trips, social outings, and community activities.




- Workers must have access to a vehicle on designated community days (e.g., Tuesdays and Thursdays).

Therapy Support

- Assist with transport to and from therapy appointments (physio, hydrotherapy, podiatry).
- Encourage and celebrate functional improvements (e.g., increased standing tolerance).

Preferred Worker Attributes

- Female staff preferred due to rapport and participant comfort.
- Warm, bubbly, proactive personality – not passive or reserved.
- Experience with psychosocial disabilities, behavior support, and complex care.
- Ability to manage emotional situations professionally and empathetically.
- Comfortable with manual handling, vehicle transfers, and supporting mobility.
- Must not be allergic to cats.

Pay: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour
