Position Summary

Seed Disability Services is seeking nurturing and reliable Support Workers (Australian women aged 19–23) to provide one-on-one support to a young client.

This role involves supporting a 10-year-old girl with daily routines, emotional regulation, community engagement, and structured activities, both at home and in the community.

Support shifts will commence on a 4hrs Monday - Friday schedule only, with opportunities for hours to increase over time based on the client’s needs and suitability. (Proposed Hours of Work -subject to change/ increased hours)

Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesDaily Living Support

- Assist with morning routines, school preparation and personal care tasks
- Support the development of positive daily habits and structured routines
- Encourage independent skill-building where appropriate

Emotional & Behavioural Support

- Provide calm, predictable and patient emotional support
- Assist with emotional regulation during transitions or challenging moments
- Follow strategies outlined in the Behaviour Support Plan

Community & Recreational Support

- Engage the client in community activities such as:
- Gymnastics
- Swimming
- Horse riding
- Park play
- Arts & crafts
- Sensory-based activities
- Encourage safe exploration, creativity and participation in new skills

Communication & Professionalism

- Maintain professional boundaries at all times
- Communicate effectively with the family, Seed Disability Services, and other stakeholders
- Provide explicit, timely updates as required




- Work collaboratively with a second support worker if rostered together

Transport

- Transport the client to and from activities as required
- Maintain accurate records for per-kilometre reimbursement

About the Client The client is a bright, active 10-year-old girl who enjoys physical and creative activities including gymnastics, clay, slime, dance, games and sensory play. She responds best to:

- Structure
- Predictability
- Gentle communication
- Calm, consistent support

She presents with support needs related to autism and ADHD, requiring workers who are emotionally aware, patient and supportive. About You (Key Selection Criteria)

To be successful in this role, you must be:

- An Australian woman aged 18–23
- Patient, calm and emotionally aware
- Confident working with children
- Able to build rapport through empathy and routine
- Willing to learn and take direction
- Reliable, punctual and committed
- Comfortable supporting children with autism and ADHD
- Open to working both independently and alongside another support worker
- An Australian citizen

No prior experience is required. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Mandatory Requirements

You must already hold OR be willing to obtain before starting:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- National Police Check (last 12 months)
- First Aid & CPR
- COVID-19 vaccination or exemption
- Current driver's licence & reliable, safe vehicle

Pay: $29.00 – $40.00 per hour

Experience
