The Role
Due to continued growth in our contracted project pipeline, we are looking for an experienced electrician to join our installation and commissioning team. The successful candidate will carry out electrical installation, testing and commissioning of pump and water management systems built in our Perth workshop. The position blends workshop-based manufacturing support with on-site installation and commissioning work, and offers strong potential for career growth within the company.
Site work generally follows an 8&6 or 2&1 roster; however, factors such as client energisation approvals, project access and after-sales support needs mean swing lengths can shift or extend at short notice. Applicants should be comfortable with this level of flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
Workshop-Based Duties (between site rotations)
- Carry out factory acceptance testing (FAT) on pump skids, control panels and pump systems before dispatch
- Splice and terminate submersible power cables for bore and pump motors

- Commission telemetry and remote monitoring/control systems
- Test, energise and hand over pump control systems, including VSDs and PLCs
- Prepare installation and commissioning documentation for the client's Manufacturer's Data Record (MDR), including bore installation logs
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults identified during commissioning
After-Sales Support
- Respond to client electrical fault call-outs, including short-notice site mobilisation when needed
- Offer remote troubleshooting support where possible before mobilising to site
Safety, Compliance & Quality
- Hold and maintain a current Driver's Licence, White Card, WA Electrical Workers Licence and National Police Clearance, and pass required drug & alcohol screening
- Complete Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) / Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) before starting work, and follow isolation and lock-out-tag-out procedures
- Keep accurate test records, compliance certificates and calibration records for test equipment
- Take part in toolbox talks and help foster a safety-focused culture on-site and in the workshop
- Mentor apprentices or junior electricians as needed, and support ongoing improvement of installation and commissioning practices
Experience With the Following Is Highly Regarded
- Pump control systems, including variable speed drives
- PLC programming experience
- Bore pump systems, including technical and control adjustments
- Dewatering pump sets
- Water transfer systems
- Telemetry systems
Skills & Personal Attributes
- Robust communication skills in English
- Commitment to maintaining a safety-conscious work environment
- Professional manner and strong work ethic
- Willing and able to travel regularly to site in line with roster requirements
- Willing to take on tasks outside the core role when workload requires
- Team player who fits well within the company culture
- High attention to detail and accuracy across all tasks
- Takes pride in their work
- Solutions-focused problem solver with a positive, "can-do" attitude
- Genuine interest in long-term work and career progression
