NDF Disc Planters is a leading Australian manufacturer with over 20 years of experience designing and building high-quality disc planters. Every machine is proudly designed and manufactured in-house at our Narromine factory, and we are committed to providing reliable, Australian-made equipment backed by exceptional customer service.
We are currently looking for a Field Service Technician / Agricultural Mechanic to join our team. Ideally, you'll have experience servicing and repairing agricultural machinery and enjoy solving problems in the field while working directly with customers.
About the Role
Our peak season runs from February to July, where you'll provide field service, breakdown support, and customer assistance across NSW, Queensland and Victoria. Applicants with the appropriate skills could also be involved in delivering, setting up and commissioning new machines.
Outside of peak season, your role will include:
Conducting machine inspections and preventative maintenance
Diagnosing and carrying out repairs and servicing
Training customers in the operation, servicing and maintenance of their machines
Assisting in the factory with machine assembly, rebuilds and servicing when not travelling
We understand the importance of work-life balance and aim to keep approximately 90% of weekends free, while minimising time spent away from home wherever possible.
A competitive salary or hourly rate is offered, along with short term housing for the right applicant if required.
What We're Looking For
· Experience servicing and repairing agricultural machinery
· Farming or farm machinery operating experience is desirable but not essential
· Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
· Ability to work well under pressure and understand the importance of responding quickly to customer breakdowns during peak season
· Ability to work with customers to find the best possible solutions
· Previous field service experience, or someone ready to transition from the workshop into field service
· Excellent attention to detail
· Solid communication and customer service skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Confidence managing in office breakdowns and repairs
· Willingness to be hands-on and proactive
· Ability to lead rebuild projects and mentor team members when required
· Confidence in training farmers in the operation and servicing of their machines
· Willingness to travel throughout NSW, Queensland and Victoria
· Current unrestricted Class C driver's licence (MR or MC licence is advantageous)
· Ability to plan trips efficiently
