Your new role:
We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our team. This role is newly created and responsible for providing effective, productive, financial management including decision support (through analysis/ budget/forecasts) to the Leadership team. Acting as 2IC to Financial Controller to oversee the Economic Enterprise Unit (finance function).
The Finance
Manager will leverage modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) and workflow automation to optimize financial pipelines, connect siloed data systems, and eliminate manual data entry in AR/AP and reporting processes. A core focus is minimizing 'organizational drag' by ensuring financial governance is both rigorous and technologically efficient. The position requires knowledge in education, management service and property partnership operations in relation to APC Education Group, internal and external stakeholder management,
system enhancements, implement and amend processes where required for financial governance, staff management, regulatory and compliance reporting.
What you will be doing:
Managing month-end closing process
Managing Financial Reporting preparations
Managing financial models and forecasts to support budgeting, refinancing, and strategic planning
Supporting external reporting such as reports for banking partners and external compliance reporting
Support Unit Heads with their financial literacy, business partnering
Coordinating with external auditors and participating in the annual audit
Coordinating with external tax consultants in tax return preparation
Managing BAS returns, FBT and payroll tax returns
Ensuring all financial practice comply with relevant laws and regulations
Acting as a super-user of ERP and HRIS systems, driving adoption of reports, dashboards and workflow automation to reduce manual work
Driving AI-Driven Document Processing and Automated Compliance Logic What you'll need to succeed:
At least 5 years post CA/CPA qualified experience
No less than 2 years experience with Oracle NetSuite
At least 5 years relevant Education industry experience
Strong knowledge of AASB, tax laws and other regulations
Excellent Excel skills and proficiency in AI workflow orchestration and enabling platforms
Ability to analyze financial data and solve complex financial issues
Developing, recommending and performance managing key financial indicators
Leading and mentoring junior staff What you'll get in return:
