THE BUSINESS
Due to an internal promotion, an opportunity exists for a high-performing Finance Manager to join a fast-growing Perth-based property investment business located on the edge of the Perth CBD. With over $2 billion in assets under management and more than 1,000 investors across its residential and commercial divisions, the business is looking for a capable finance leader to act as a clear number two to the CFO and help strengthen the finance function as it continues to grow.
THE ROLE The role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, take ownership of a broad finance remit and play a meaningful role in improving the systems, reporting and processes to support the continued growth of the business. This role offers a clear opportunity to take on increasing leadership responsibilities as the business continues to grow.
This is a full time position, although a part-time arrangement may be considered for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Manage the day-to-day performance, workload planning, coaching and development of local and offshore finance team members, ensuring clear accountability and achievement of team KPIs.
- Own the year-end and half-year investor reporting function, including the annual audit process across the property funds, tax reporting to investors as well as compliance & AFSL audit requirements.
- Prepare and oversee the month-end close process across the group’s funds, including unit pricing calculations and fund distributions.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting quality, controls, workflow efficiency across the business, through automation and AI.
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle, including preparation, review, variance analysis and reporting to senior management.
- Manage cash flow forecasting,
debt covenant reporting and cash management across the group's property funds and related entities.
- Lead strategic and operational finance projects, including process improvement, systems enhancement and financial reporting initiatives.
- Oversee statutory reporting obligations, regulatory returns and lodgements across the relevant funds and corporate entities.
- Coordinate tax compliance support, including liaison with external tax advisers and preparation or review of GST, income tax, margin scheme, land tax and other relevant finance-related obligations.
- Act as the finance systems champion, driving ongoing optimisation and adoption of platforms including the general ledger, workflow management and reporting systems
- Act as the primary deputy to the CFO, providing leadership across the finance function and supporting key strategic, operational and governance initiatives.
The successful candidate You will be CA or CPA qualified with experience gained in either a Big 4 or reputable mid-tier accounting firm, followed by a commercial finance role. Experience within funds management, property, financial services or a multi-entity environment will be highly regarded.
You will possess strong technical accounting capabilities, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. Most importantly, you will be a hands-on leader who enjoys improving processes, developing people and partnering with stakeholders across the business.
