About The Opportunity We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Food Services Assistant with strong baking experience and knowledge of Greek cuisine to join our team at Fronditha Care’s Clayton facility. In this hands-on role, you will support the preparation and service of nutritious, well-presented meals while helping to create a positive and meaningful dining experience for our residents that meets their health needs and cultural preferences. A key focus of the role will be baking a wide variety of desserts, cakes and pastries.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are confident preparing traditional Greek desserts and understand the important role food plays in celebrating culture, tradition and connection. The Day-to-day Responsibilities Knowledge of Greek cuisine preferable Bake a variety of cakes, pastries and desserts, including traditional Greek sweets.

Plan,



prepare and cook meals for care recipients in Fronditha Care facilities

Food preparation: Cutting, chopping, slicing etc.

Loading and pushing food trolleys

Loading and unloading dishwashers

Loading and unloading food in and out of commercial ovens

Transferring large cooking pots from oven to bench and sink. Maintain high standards of hygiene and comply with food safety regulations.

Set and arrange tables and chairs as per procedures.

Wash dishes, clean workbenches and maintain a tidy kitchen and dining area.

Report any faulty kitchen equipment and maintain compliance with safety standards.

Oversee documentation related to food safety, meals records and stock levels.

Participate in Fronditha Care's continuous improvement processes to enhance service quality.

Physical

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to walk, stand and sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently push, pull, stretch, bend, reach, carry and squat.

What Success Looks Like For This

Role Food handling certificate is essential but not limited to.

Previous experience with food handling and cleaning.

Minimum 1 year experience in the Aged Care Sector.

Proven skills around infection control and secure food handling.

Proficiency in communication and teamwork.





Preferred background in aged care or a related field. OH&S; Responsibility To always observe and abide by all OH&S; and WorkSafe regulations.

To report any potential hazards or breaches to Direct Management immediately.

Take any or all appropriate action that is safe to do so to remove or reduce hazards or risks.
