Role Description The Formwork Carpenter is an on-site role based in the Greater Perth Area. This position is responsible for constructing, installing, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures, including walls, columns, slabs, and other structural elements. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting drawings, setting out and assembling formwork systems, cutting and shaping materials, and ensuring accurate alignment and level of all forms.
The role involves safe and proficient use of hand and power tools, coordinating with site supervisors and other trades, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
The Formwork
Carpenter is expected to follow all safety standards, contribute to efficient project timelines, and support the delivery of high-quality concrete structures.
Qualifications
- Strong carpentry skills, including experience in formwork (Peri and conventional) and framing.
- Proficient use of power tools and hand tools in a construction environment.
- Experience with finish carpentry or detailed timber work is beneficial.
- Previous experience in concrete construction or civil/infrastructure projects preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Commitment to safety practices and compliance with site regulations.
- Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor in varying site conditions.
- Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in carpentry or a related field is an advantage.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a site-based team.
