Source: uWorkin We are seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager to lead the operations of our manufacturing plant and captive quarry in Young, NSW.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient management of manufacturing and mining operations, driving business performance, continuous improvement, and strategic growth. You will ensure targets relating to safety, environment, quality assurance, production and all statutory and regulatory requirements are met or exceeded.

This opportunity is for a proven leader who enjoys working in a challenging setting and taking ownership of operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant and quarry.
- Develop and implement business strategies and operational plans to achieve company objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement in productivity, safety, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Manage budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 25-30 employees.
- Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Manage capital and operational projects up to $5 million, ensuring within time and budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure quality control procedures meet required standards.
- Ensure compliance with all Work Health & Safety (WHS), mining, environmental, quality and legislative





About The Candidate requirements.

- Lead risk management, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential qualifications and experience:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years' experience as a General Manager or senior operational leader within a small to medium-sized business.
- Demonstrated experience operating both rotary kilns and shaft kilns.
- Strong strategic planning, financial management, and business leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and business performance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
