Afrimat (CM) Western Cape (Pty) Ltd, based at Peak Quarry – Eersteriver, has a vacancy for a

General Worker

(Fixed Term – 6 Months)

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

- Minimum Grade 12
- Be literate and functionally numerate
- Possess basic knowledge of machinery
- Pre-employment medical required
- Ability to work under pressure
- Be self-disciplined and able to work without supervision
- Ability to work within the team
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices, and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites
- Assist with manual labour and plant maintenance
- Be able to work irregular hours which may include night work

Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)

- Assist with performing daily pre-start inspection checks
- Ensure that the plant is cleaned regularly and as when required
- Assist with general maintenance tasks on and around the plant




- Maintain the cleanliness of the general working area i.e. cleaning of screens, etc
- Carry out other instructions given by your superior
- Report any general elementary problems to his/her immediate supervisor.
- Adhere to all SHE rules and regulations that are applicable on the site
- Assist with all screen changes
- Acknowledge that Management reserves the right to allocate additional tasks when for whatever reason the task cannot be completed on a standard allocated job.
