Geotechnical Engineer - Business Development Manager – Digital Orebody Knowledge

About the Role

We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead the growth of our Digital Orebody Knowledge (OBK) solutions across the mining and geotechnical sectors. This role will be based in our Corporate Head Office in Balcatta.

This is a unique opportunity to combine your geotechnical expertise with strong business development skills to drive the adoption of cutting-edge data analytics and machine learning technologies. You will play a key role in expanding our footprint, building long-term partnerships, and contributing to IMDEX’s growth strategy.

Responsibilities

- Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities within mining and geotechnical organisations
- Promote Digital OBK solutions, including machine learning and advanced data analytics capabilities




- Engage with key stakeholders to understand operational challenges and position data-driven solutions
- Build and maintain strong, trusted customer relationships across technical and executive audiences
- Support the adoption and integration of digital technologies across customer operations
- Collaborate with internal technical and product teams to deliver tailored solutions
- Contribute to market insights, innovation, and thought leadership in geotechnical and digital transformation
- Represent IMDEX at industry events, conferences, and client engagements

About You You are a commercially savvy geotechnical professional who thrives at the intersection of technology, data, and customer value.

Key Requirements:

- A degree in Engineering or related discipline is required
- Proven experience in business development, sales, geotechnical consulting or commercial roles within mining, exploration, geoscience
- Strong understanding of orebody knowledge, drilling, or subsurface data workflows
- Exposure to or interest in digital technologies, data analytics, or machine learning
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
