Global Finance Manager - Manufacturing and Automation RETAINED SEARCH | EXCLUSIVE LISTING About our client Our client is a well-established Australian engineering and manufacturing business that designs and delivers specialised automation solutions to customers across Australia and international markets. Following sustained growth and recent acquisitions, the business has evolved into a complex multi-entity organisation operating across Australia, New Zealand and the United States. Despite its growth, the business has maintained a collaborative, family-oriented culture built on trust, accountability and practical decision-making.
Leaders are empowered to take ownership, contribute ideas and work closely with the executive team to help shape the future of the organisation. This appointment represents a rare opportunity to step into a genuine leadership role where you’ll influence commercial decisions, strengthen financial capability and help build the finance function for the next stage of growth.
About the opportunity Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will lead the finance function across an international group while partnering with senior leadership to support strategic and operational decision-making.
Your responsibilities will include
- Leading consolidated reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow across multiple entities.
- Managing treasury, taxation, audit, compliance and financial governance.
- Driving finance systems, reporting improvements and Power BI capability.
- Leading and developing the finance team while supporting future acquisitions and business integration.
This is a broad commercial leadership role combining strategic planning with hands-on operational finance. You’ll oversee manufacturing costing, project and inventory costing, intercompany transactions and financial performance while providing practical recommendations that support continued business growth. About you We’re looking for an experienced finance leader who enjoys building businesses, improving systems and partnering with senior stakeholders. Ideally you’ll bring:
- CA or CPA qualification with senior finance leadership experience.
- Manufacturing, engineering, industrial or OEM finance experience.
- Robust background in multi-entity reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
- Experience leading finance teams and influencing executive-level decision-making. Exposure to Power BI, ERP systems, international operations, acquisitions or manufacturing costing will be highly regarded. What’s on offer This is far more than a traditional Finance Manager role. You’ll join a growing international business at an exciting stage of its journey and have genuine influence over how the finance function evolves.
The opportunity offers
- Responsibility for finance across Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
- Direct access to senior leadership with the autonomy to influence business decisions.
- Hybrid working after onboarding with flexibility around international time zones.
- A genuine pathway towards a broader Head of Finance or Finance Director role as the organisation continues to grow. Please note This is a permanent role, and applicants must have working rights that align with long-term employment requirements in Australia. Sponsorship will not be provided.
