Description

The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Lawyer to join our high-performing Melbourne Commonwealth Compensation and Insurance Litigation team.

This role is ideally suited to a recent law graduate or early career lawyer with a genuine interest in litigation and a desire to build a long-term career in personal injury law.

Working alongside experienced Principals and senior lawyers, you will gain exposure to a broad range of personal injury matters, supporting the team across all stages of litigation. You’ll receive hands-on mentoring, structured development and practical experience that will help build a strong foundation for your legal career.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical legal skills, gain client exposure and learn from experienced practitioners in a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Assisting with the management of defendant/respondent litigated and non-litigated matters
- Conducting legal research and preparing file summaries
- Drafting correspondence, court documents, pleadings and legal advices
- Attending client meetings, mediations, conferences and court hearings
- Assisting with file management and meeting key deadlines
- Building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- Contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture

About You

- Recently admitted, completing Practical Legal Training (PLT), or due to be admitted in the near future
- A law degree with strong academic results
- A genuine interest in litigation and insurance law
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn




- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
- Previous legal experience through internships, clerkships, volunteering or paralegal work will be highly regarded
