Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee grid connection activities across the full project lifecycle, take charge of grid connection applications and agreement negotiations, optimize solutions from technical and cost perspectives, and ensure successful financial close as well as continuous compliance during post-commissioning operation.
2. Engage in early-stage project development, deliver preliminary electrical designs, formulate customized grid connection schemes in line with local power grid codes, and conduct technical feasibility assessments for site grid integration.
3. Lead technical and commercial grid-related tasks for EPC and O&M; tenders of energy storage, wind and PV projects, screen core electrical equipment such as inverters, and negotiate technical clauses of relevant contracts.
4. Liaise with grid authorities, power regulatory bodies and third-party technical consultants, drive the entire grid connection process to secure official compliance approvals; coordinate compliance procedures including project registration, hold-point testing and grid acceptance inspection.
5. Collaborate with development, procurement and construction teams to carry out techno-economic analysis, review engineering documents submitted by third parties, follow up design,
construction and commissioning at all stages, and resolve various technical issues in a standardized manner.
Job Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines; over 8 years of working experience in large-scale renewable energy projects in Australia, including at least 5 years of hands-on experience in local grid connection, with solid knowledge of Australia’s power system.
2. Sound command of Australian grid connection regulations; proficient in power system simulation software including PowerFactory and PSCAD; well-versed in electrical grid integration standards for energy storage, photovoltaic and wind power plants.
3. Fundamental capabilities in project and contract management, able to control engineering budgets and independently compile and present skilled technical reports.
4. Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite; outstanding communication and coordination skills, meticulous and accountable at work, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure working environment.
5. Candidates with experience in large-scale energy storage projects and high-voltage grid connection schemes will be prioritized.
