ABOUT NGALLA WIRRIN WUNGENING

Ngalla Wirrin Wungening (Our Spirit Healing) delivers alcohol and other drug healing practices, through:

We offer support to individuals with alcohol and other drug challenges themselves, and to families who need support for someone else’s use. Support options include one-to-one counselling, group work, and outreach services where we engage with clients in the community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role will be based out of our East Perth office with groups held throughout the metropolitan area. The NWW Group Facilitator is part of the NWW Team and will also provide AOD Counselling as required.

The Ngalla Wirrin Wungening (NWW) Group Facilitator is central component to the delivery of the Ngalla Wirrin Wungening (Our Spirit Healing) model.

The NWW Group Facilitator works collaboratively within a dedicated team to deliver the entire ‘Healing Journey’. The primary function of this role is to facilitate groups, primarily relating to ‘Own Use’ and ‘Other’s Use’, as per the below examples.

Solid Ground - A facilitated daily themed group meeting working where participants collaborate and provide peer to peer lived experience support, supported by recovery coaching and counselling from a Strong Spirit Strong Mind lens.

Higher Ground - A program for participants who have been through Solid Ground, providing collaborative support to maintain and develop recovery goals and strategies. The group is co-facilitated with participants.

Djook Yarning - A support group just for women experiencing family domestic violence (FDV).



Working with each other and sharing strength to build social and emotional wellbeing.

Moort on Boodja - A healing group addressing cultural, parenting and therapeutic needs for families to yarn and support each other with AOD challenges.

Family Support Group - For families or kin with a loved one facing AOD challenges. Find support for yourself and learn how to help your loved one.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

- Experience providing group facilitation in a relevant setting.
- Knowledge of and commitment to respecting Aboriginal culture, protocols, and boundaries and providing AOD services in a culturally strong and safe way.
- Minimum Diploma qualification in Counselling or Community Services, or similar, and/or desire to obtain these skills.
- Understanding of, and commitment to working to key performance indicators.
- WA Drivers licence.

- Experience working with client management systems
- Specific training or qualification in AOD and/or family related group facilitation
