Step into a pivotal finance leadership role in a business built for growth

At Grass Patch Capital, we specialise in partnering with and acquiring equity in small to middle-market businesses with strong growth potential.

This opportunity sits within a well-established, high-growth portfolio business in the industrial services sector. Backed by capital and strategic advisory support, the business is entering its next phase of expansion through both organic growth initiatives and targeted acquisitions.

This is a fast-paced, agile environment where decisions are commercial, data-informed and executed with urgency. Leaders are trusted, empowered and expected to make a measurable impact.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an outstanding senior accounting and finance manager/leader to join the business as Group Financial Controller.

Reporting directly to the CEO and Acquisitions Director, this role will take ownership of group financial reporting, compliance, treasury, internal controls and finance operations across a growing multi-entity group.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with broad-based accounting and finance experience who is ready to take the next step into a highly visible leadership role, or for an established Financial Controller looking to make a bigger mark in a high-growth, PE-backed environment.

You will play a key role in strengthening governance, improving systems and processes, supporting acquisitions and due diligence activity and building a finance function that can scale with the business.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead the group month-end and year-end close processes.

· Deliver timely consolidated reporting packs, board packs and statutory financial statements.

· Maintain strong internal control frameworks, governance standards and balance sheet integrity.

· Manage external audit relationships across entities.

· Oversee group treasury, cash flow forecasting,

covenant monitoring and banking relationships.

· Optimise working capital and support disciplined financial decision-making.

· Lead finance operations, including accounts payable, corporate expenditure governance and operational cost management.

· Build, lead and mentor a high-performing finance team.

· Drive finance systems improvement, ERP development, master data governance and process automation.

· Provide technical accounting leadership across complex transactions, due diligence and acquisition integration.

· Partner closely with the executive team to support strategic growth and corporate initiatives.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for a hands-on, commercially minded finance professional with the technical depth, leadership capability and drive to thrive in a high-growth business.

· 10+ years’ experience across accounting and finance, with increasing levels of responsibility.

· A degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.

· CA or CPA qualification will be highly regarded.

· Strong experience in financial control, group reporting and senior finance management.

· Deep understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, statutory reporting, audit and governance requirements.

· Experience in multi-entity environments, ideally including businesses growing through acquisition.

· Exposure to audit, due diligence, M&A; activity, integration and corporate transactions.

· Strong treasury, cash flow and working capital management capability.

· A track record of improving systems, processes and controls in fast-moving environments.

· Proven ability to manage, lead, develop and elevate finance teams.

· Confidence working across both strategic, analytical and operational finance matters.

Experience in industrial services, logistics, transport, supply chain or related sectors will be highly regarded, as will exposure to public companies, private equity-backed businesses, as well as small to medium-sized enterprises.

Why This Role Stands Out

This is more than a traditional controllership role.

It is a chance to join a business at a genuinely exciting point in its journey. A business with the backing, ambition and acquisition pipeline to create meaningful scale. You will have the opportunity to shape the finance function, influence commercial outcomes and work closely with senior leadership and decision-makers across the group.

· A genuine leadership platform.

· Direct exposure to the CEO, Acquisitions Director and executive team.

· Involvement in growth strategy, acquisitions and integration.

· The prospect to build systems, processes and team capability for the next stage of expansion.

· A fast-moving environment where your impact will be visible and valued.

· Growth into a CFO role within the Group would be the next step.

How to Apply

Only applications accompanied with a cover letter will be accepted.

If you are a high-calibre finance leader looking for your next step in a growth-focused, commercially driven environment, we would welcome your application.

If you do not meet every requirement but believe you have the capability and ambition to succeed in this role, we still encourage you to apply.

We are happy to discuss individual circumstances with strong candidates, as there will be additional roles becoming available.
