ensuring effective governance, compliance, and support throughout the candidature lifecycle Drive continuous improvement and expert decision-making by managing complex candidature matters, advising senior stakeholders, and enhancing HDR processes, outcomes, and candidate experience Full time , Fixed-Term (1 year) locatted in Hobart About the opportunity The HDR Candidature Coordinator leads the Graduate Research Office (GRO)

Candidature Team and provides operational oversight of HDR candidature and examinations across the University, supporting the delivery of high-quality research training in a dynamic higher education environment. The role ensures effective governance and management of the HDR candidature lifecycle, provides expert advice on complex candidature, progression and examination matters to key stakeholders, and manages a diverse portfolio of high-volume activities while driving continuous improvement, enhancing the candidate experience, and strengthening HDR processes and outcomes across the University. What you’ll do:

Coordinate the HDR Candidature portfolio and associated service delivery functions, ensuring efficient, compliant and student-focused candidature management and examination activities.

Provide expert advice for the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Graduate Research to support the resolution of complex candidature, progression and examination matters,



supporting sound decision-making across the University.

Build capability within the Candidature Team through effective leadership, coaching, workforce planning and performance development.

Strengthen relationships with portfolios, academic units, and key divisional teams to facilitate positive experiences and outcomes for HDR candidates, supervisors and other stakeholders.

Support continuous improvement of the University’s graduate research portfolio through monitoring and analysis of data, systems, policies and processes, contributing to enhanced governance, compliance, reporting and service effectiveness. ­What we’re looking for:

A Bachelor level qualification or higher in a relevant field.

High-level skills in interpreting and applying higher education policy and procedure to provide accurate and expert guidance to stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to develop and analyse specialised data sets to provide comprehensive data-driven reports of GRO services.

Well-developed project management knowledge and skills, including the capability to deliver a broad range of operational and strategic activities on time.

Demonstrated experience in leading a professional, client-focused service team for diverse stakeholders in a University or large, complex organisation.

Salary details Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,943 comprising base salary within the range of $101,821 to





$111,917 plus 17% superannuation.
