Melbourne Sports Institute is seeking an experienced and specialised Head of Cricket Coach to join the successful sports program of an Inner South-East Grammar School. As the Head of Cricket, you will manage and develop teams across various year levels, fostering skill development, game sense, and strategic play for competition matches.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coach cricket teams across multiple year levels including junior, inters and senior boys programs.
- Attend all training sessions and matches throughout the school year during the relevant terms.
- Develop and implement training plans, match strategies, and player development programs.
- Work closely with school staff, students, and sports department heads.
Scheduled Hours: Cricket runs across Terms 4 and 1.
- Term 4 (commencing October): Tuesday and Thursday match days only.
- Term 1 (commencing late January): All three match days resume.
Match Days:
- Year 7: Tuesdays, 12:45pm – 3:30/4:45pm
- Year 8/9: Thursdays, 12:45pm – 3:30/4:45pm
- Year 10–12: Wednesdays, 12:45pm – 3:30/4:45pm
Training: Mondays, 7:00am – 8:30am
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated coaching experience and cricket accreditation (minimum Cricket Australia Level 2 or equivalent).
- Elite level playing and/or coaching experience.
- Ability to work with high responsibility and organisation, showing initiative and independence.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with students, staff, and heads of sport.
- In-depth knowledge of cricket, player development, and match strategy.
Required Qualifications:
- Working with Children Check (Employee Card)
- Minimum Cricket Australia Level 2 Coach Accreditation
- First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
