About the role

This is a high-impact role for an experienced People & Capability leader who can balance big-picture strategy with hands-on operational excellence, in a service obsessed organisation. In this newly created Head of People and Capability role, your mission is to develop and drive the people strategy that powers Coffee Supreme’s performance and capability across Australia and New Zealand (we have sites in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch), and our small but mighty team in Japan. You will lead strategic organisational design, total rewards frameworks, employee relations, and AU Work Health & Safety (WHS) compliance to ensure our people engine runs with care, clarity, and high-performance rigour.

In the day-to-day, you will bring our four core values to life: Nurture Supreme® Relationships: Build deep trust, psychological safety, and open partnerships with senior leaders, employee groups, and external partners while handling sensitive conversations with empathy, transparency, and warmth.

Take Ownership: Act as the ultimate owner of strategic workforce planning, remuneration frameworks, AU WHS governance, and executive reporting - establishing robust policies, mitigating organisational risk, and delivering clear accountability.

Be Courageous, Curious & Creative: Proactively re-evaluate team structures, pioneer innovative L&D; initiatives, and continuously refresh our culture, values campaigns, and B Corp initiatives

Take Coffee Seriously, but Not Too Seriously: Bring commercial discipline, legal precision, and strategic rigour to HR practices while keeping our unique culture, humour, and shared passion for great coffee at the heart of everything you do.





Key Responsibilities Strategic People Partnering & Organisational Design: Partner with the ELT on organisational structures, talent management and capacity planning to drive strategic growth goals.

Remuneration & Total Rewards Strategy: Lead annual performance and remuneration cycle reviews, ensuring a high-performance focused and market-competitive frameworks. AU Work Health & Safety (WHS) & Multi-Country Governance: Own legal compliance, risk assessment, and policy governance for Australian WHS statutory obligations, ensuring ongoing compliance with labour laws, Awards, and statutory duties across all jurisdictions.

Capability Uplift: Learning and development initiatives and programs across the organisation.

Coaching: Coach leaders on complex team dynamics, courageous performance conversations, and high-risk Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).

ER: Lead any workplace investigations, grievances, and conflict resolution processes safely, legally, and empathetically.

Emerging Technologies / AI & Analytics: Synthesise workforce metrics (turnover, engagement, capacity) into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for the Board and ELT.

Team Leadership: Leadership, mentoring, and support to the NZ-based P&C; Manager.

Projects: Sponsor key strategic projects, including B Corp Re-Certification, HRIS rollouts, EVP, and values integration campaigns.

About You

We're looking for an engaging P&C; leader who can translate strategy into operational initiatives, with a strategic and commercial mindset, who acts as a discreet, trusted sounding board for senior executives and the Board. We're customer obsessed, so ideally, we're looking for someone from a service orientated background,



so that you understand how important our customers are to us. The successful applicant will bring:

Proven experience in HR strategy, org design, workforce planning and talent management.

Experience in coaching leaders and delivering L&D; initiatives organisation wide. Expertise in market benchmarking, salary band and total reward strategies.

Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Fair Work legislation, Awards, & WHS statutory frameworks. ER expertise, confident in sensitive investigations, and drafting airtight legal documentation.

Strong AI / Emerging Technology leadership and data-driven storytelling skills, turning raw workforce analytics into clear executive and board reports.

A proven track record in coaching senior managers and resolving workplace dynamics constructively, and with care and empathy. How we work

We’re a hybrid and flexible team, and this role can be based in either our Sydney (Chatswood) or Melbourne (Abbotsford) sites. We’re also open to part-time (FTE 0.8) for the right person. This role will also involve travel across our Australia and NZ locations (which is usually pretty fun - but we know needs to be factored into everyday logistics of life!).
