Here at Future1st we're partnering up with a leading wholesale tree nursery in Piedmont, Victoria, to find a motivated Horticulture Trainee to join their growing team and complete a Certificate III in Horticulture while working full-time.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a large-scale wholesale nursery environment, working across the day-to-day production and care of trees. You’ll gain exposure to everything from potting, pruning and general tree care through to preparing customer orders, organising nursery stock, loading and unloading deliveries, and assisting with dispatch operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with daily nursery operations, including potting, pruning and general tree care
- Monitoring tree and plant health and reporting any issues to the nursery team
- Preparing, processing and packing customer orders with accuracy and care
- Labelling, organising and maintaining nursery stock
- Assisting with loading and unloading trucks and deliveries
- Supporting day-to-day dispatch and delivery operations
- Learning to safely operate nursery machinery, equipment and tools
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Assisting other nursery team members with general horticulture duties as required
- Following all workplace health and safety procedures
Working Hours
- Full-time – 38 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- 7:00 AM – 3:15 PM
- Based at the nursery in Piedmont, Victoria
- Hands-on, outdoor nursery environment

Ideally, you'll have:

- Good physical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive manual tasks
- The ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong teamwork, reliability and punctuality
- A willingness to follow workplace health and safety procedures
Requirements:
- Must be an Australian or Current Zealand Citizen/Permanent Resident
- MUST HAVE Drivers License and a car.
- Willing to complete a 12 month accredited Tafe course online.
- Ability to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks.
