As the face of the People team, the HR Coordinator (People Coordinator) is the trusted first point of contact for employees and leaders across Engineers Australia. This role is all about creating exceptional employee experiences by providing timely advice, resolving queries, connecting people with the right support, and ensuring every interaction leaves a positive impression. Beyond delivering outstanding people support, you'll play a pivotal role in coordinating key People programs, supporting the full employee lifecycle, and partnering with leaders to provide practical HR guidance.
From onboarding and employee records management to reporting, administration, and continuous improvement initiatives, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our people, culture, and employee experience every day. This is an initial 6-month fixed term opportunity until Feb 2027 – with a potential to extend. Location
Based in our Melbourne office, this role offers a flexible hybrid working model, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. To set you up for success, you'll spend more time onsite during your initial onboarding and training period, building relationships and gaining hands-on experience with our people, systems, and processes. What You'll Bring
Experience working in an HR Coordinator, HR administration or similar role, supported by tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.
A good understanding of contemporary HR practices, employment legislation, and employee lifecycle processes.
A proactive, customer-focused approach, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Confidence working independently, exercising sound judgement and discretion when handling people matters.
A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively as part of a geographically dispersed team.
Strong initiative and the ability to prioritise work, manage expectations, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
Excellent attention to detail, supported by outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Key Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for People enquiries, providing advice, support, and an exceptional employee experience.
Deliver generalist HR support across recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, performance, remuneration, learning and development, policies, and employment legislation.
Coordinate and deliver end-to-end employee lifecycle activities, including employment contracts, induction and onboarding, probation, employee movements, and offboarding processes.
Maintain HR systems, employee records, trackers, reporting, and data integrity across multiple people platforms.
Coordinate key People programs, including employee recognition, benefits, engagement surveys, and employee communications.
Partner with Talent Acquisition, People Business Partners, Payroll, and business leaders to support workforce and people initiatives.
