About the role

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and making a positive difference in your community? Southern Downs Regional Council is seeking a friendly, professional and solutions focused Customer Service Officer to join our team.

As the first point of contact for our community, you will provide accurate information and support across a wide range of Council services while delivering a positive customer experience in person, over the phone and through digital channels. You will confidently manage enquiries, resolve customer requests and build strong relationships with residents, visitors and colleagues.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to deal effectively with difficult customers
- Extensive office administration experience including robust written communication skills and experience in current office computer programs
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within a team environment
- Cashiering experience including reconciliation of financial data
- Proven ability to work with limited supervision and maintain confidentiality





Pay Level $2866.59 - $3053.21 per fortnight (Level 2) + 12% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading. In accordance with Council’s Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award.

Pay rate dependent on relevant skills and experience.

Status Temporary Full-time – till 17 March 2028

Hours of Work 72.5 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight or as negotiated
