⚡Bring Your HR Experience to a Purpose-Led Organisation

People & Culture Administrator

$85K–$90K Super

Permanent Opportunity

Werribee | Onsite

? Who are we?

We’re excited to be partnering with a leading Christian education organisation in Melbourne’s West to find a People & Culture Administrator to join their growing team.

With approximately 500 staff across two campuses and an exciting period of growth ahead, the organisation is continuing to invest in its People & Culture capability and build the systems, processes and foundations needed to support its people into the future.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a couple of years’ Australian HR experience who wants broad exposure across the employee lifecycle while being part of a warm, supportive and purpose-led environment.

You’ll join a People & Culture function that is evolving, giving you the opportunity to support the day-to-day while also improving processes, introducing greater structure and contributing to how the function develops.

As a Christian organisation, faith is naturally at the heart of the community and culture. This opportunity will particularly appeal to someone with an active Christian faith who would value bringing their professional experience into an environment that shares their values. The position description confirms that supporting and abiding by the organisation's Christian foundations, ethos and practice is an inherent requirement for staff.

? Who are you?

You’ve already developed a positive foundation in HR and are ready for a role where you can broaden your experience and make a genuine contribution.

You’re organised, proactive and naturally service-oriented. You enjoy being someone others can rely on, whether that’s supporting a new starter, preparing an employment contract, responding to an HR query or making sure important details don’t fall through the cracks.

You’ll also enjoy working in an environment that is continuing to evolve. You don’t need every process to already be perfectly documented – you’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves, bringing some structure and helping improve the way things are done.

You’ll be someone who is drawn to working within a Christian environment and sees this as an opportunity to bring together your HR experience, faith and desire to serve others.

? Day to day

No two days will look exactly the same, but your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing employment contracts, letters and People & Culture documentation
- Coordinating onboarding, inductions and new starter processes
- Supporting recruitment, including advertising, resume screening, interview coordination and reference checks
- Maintaining accurate employee information within the HRIS
- Supporting employee lifecycle activities including commencements, changes and exits
- Managing the People & Culture inbox and responding to employee and leader queries
- Administering staff compliance and online learning requirements
- Generating HRIS and compliance reports and following up outstanding requirements
- Supporting WorkCover administration
- Helping maintain and improve HR templates, documentation and processes
- Providing day-to-day administrative support across the broader People & Culture function

? What’s in your toolkit?

Must-haves:

- Around 2 years’ experience within HR / People & Culture in Australia
- Practical exposure to HR administration and the employee lifecycle

- A sound understanding of Australian employment practices, including the Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards
- Experience preparing employment documentation and supporting onboarding activities
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Confidence managing competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, service-oriented approach
- An active Christian faith and genuine alignment with the organisation’s Christian ethos and values
- Ability to meet child safety and pre-employment screening requirements, including an Employee Working with Children Check and National Police Check

Nice-to-haves:

- Experience working with an HRIS
- Recruitment administration experience
- Exposure to HR reporting, compliance or WorkCover administration
- Intermediate Excel and strong Microsoft Word skills
- HR qualifications such as a Certificate IV in Human Resources or similar
- Education sector experience – although this certainly isn’t essential

? Why this role?

- $85K–$90K super, depending on experience
- Join a genuinely warm, values-led and service-focused organisation
- Gain broad exposure across the employee lifecycle
- Join a People & Culture function at an exciting stage of its development
- Help shape and improve practical HR processes and ways of working
- Work within an environment where faith, purpose and service are genuinely embedded in the culture
- Werribee location – particularly attractive for HR professionals living in Melbourne’s West or the Geelong corridor
- Join an organisation entering an exciting period of growth and change

If you’re looking for an HR opportunity where you can continue developing your career, contribute to a growing People & Culture function and work within a Christian community that genuinely aligns with your values, we’d love to hear from you.
