ABOUT THE ROLE

As the ICT Business Analyst, you will connect NIT’s business teams, leadership and technology partners. You will analyse business needs, improve processes and help deliver practical technology solutions that enhance the experience of students and staff.

You will contribute to NIT’s digital transformation projects across its Learning Management System, Training Management System, website, Microsoft 365, Azure applications, SharePoint, reporting tools, workflow automation and system integrations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work with business teams, management, ICT specialists and vendors to identify and prioritise business and system requirements.




- Facilitate interviews, surveys, and process reviews with key stakeholders.
- Analyse current processes and recommend practical improvements.
- Prepare requirements, user stories, process maps, functional specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Support the improvement and integration of NIT’s Learning Management System, Training Management System (TMS), website, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure applications and reporting systems.
- Translate approved business requirements into explicit tasks for developers, ICT teams and vendors.
- Define data, reporting, integration, migration and access requirements.
- Maintain project requirements, priorities, dependencies and change requests.
- Prepare test plans and coordinate user acceptance testing, defect resolution and business sign-off.
- Support system implementation, upgrades, data migration, staff training and post-release activities.
- Monitor system adoption and outcomes and recommend further improvements.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, business cases, project updates and presentations for management and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to project planning, vendor evaluation and technology roadmap discussions.

SELECTION CRITERIA





- A relevant bachelor’s degree or higher qualifications with a combination business management, commerce Information Systems and Technology related disciplines.
- Demonstrated work experience as an ICT Business Analyst in the vocational education and training sector.
- Strong understanding of Australian VET operations, student administration, education technology and regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Experience gathering, analysing, documenting and managing business and system requirements.
- Ability to review business processes and recommend practical improvements.
- Experience preparing user stories, process maps, functional specifications, business rules and acceptance criteria.
- Experience with enterprise systems such as an LMS, TMS, student portal, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure applications or workflow automation.
- Practical experience preparing and coordinating functional testing and user acceptance testing.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and relationship-management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with business teams, technical specialists and external vendors.
- Experience with tools such as Visio, Lucidchart and SQL will be highly regarded.
- Sound understanding of privacy, information security, data governance and records management.
