About the chance
There is currently one (1) permanent – full time position available for immediate filling.
As an Incident Operations Manager , you will lead and coordinate operational teams throughout the lifecycle of emergency incidents, ensuring a safe, consistent, and effective response.
You will develop and mentor operational personnel from DPIRD and partner agencies, lead operations for high-level incidents, support Deputy Operations Managers during lower-level incidents, and contribute to the development and delivery of operational systems, processes, training, exercises, and documentation to strengthen emergency response capability.
We are looking for individuals with:
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing emergency operations, including monitoring performance against agreed objectives to deliver effective incident response outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary emergency management practices, with experience developing operational strategies, plans, training, and exercises to build response capability.
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships and communicate effectively in both written and verbal contexts.
- Highly developed analytical, planning, and leadership skills, with the ability to solve complex problems, manage competing priorities, and lead teams to deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.
