Reporting to the Industry Policy Manager, the Industry Policy Coordinator supports the development, review and implementation of rules of racing and industry-related policies, procedures and guidelines across the three codes of racing. This role assists with research, drafting, consultation, stakeholder communication, implementation materials and coordination and implementation support for rules and policy matters, including support for the RQ Rules and Policy Panel and related industry engagement processes. Racing Queensland is looking for an Industry Policy Coordinator to join our Racing team on a permanent basis. What you’ll do, day to day

Supporting RQ in creating, updating, and delivery of industry policies, procedures, guidelines, and rules of racing across the three codes.

Supporting the RQ Rules and Policy Panel by assisting with agendas, papers, recommendations, action items, implementation documentation and follow-up actions.

Assisting with research, evaluation and benchmarking of rules, policies, procedures and regulatory models from Queensland, interstate and international racing jurisdictions.

Assisting with consultation processes for proposed rule changes and policy initiatives,



including preparing consultation materials, stakeholder notices, explanatory documents and summaries of feedback.

Monitoring and responding to the policy inbox across the three codes.

Assisting with consultation with industry participants and stakeholders to gather feedback, identify issues and support informed policy, procedure and guideline development. What we expect from you You have strong written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and accurate documents.

You’ll be confident researching, interpreting and summarising complex information.

You’ll bring sound judgement, professionalism and attention to detail when dealing with sensitive or complex matters.

You are organised, responsive and able to effectively manage competing priorities.

You can communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders and build constructive working relationships across the industry. You may come from a policy, legal, regulatory, governance, compliance, government or similar background.
