The Opportunity
Force Fire is seeking an experienced Inspection and Testing Technician to join our team.
You’ll be responsible for carrying out the inspection and testing of fire protection systems across a diverse range of commercial, industrial and residential sites. This includes fire detection and alarm systems, Emergency Warning & Intercommunication Systems (EWIS), emergency and exit lighting, and passive fire assets to ensure compliance with Australian Standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated technician who enjoys working independently, building strong client relationships and delivering quality service while ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled inspection and testing of fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with AS1851.
- Perform inspection and testing of Emergency Warning & Intercommunication Systems (EWIS), including WIP phones and evacuation systems.
- Inspect and test emergency and exit lighting systems in accordance with AS2293.
- Carry out passive fire inspections, including fire doors, fire-rated penetrations, walls and ceilings.
- Identify, document and report system defects and non-compliance issues.
- Complete accurate inspection reports,
asset records and compliance documentation.
- Build strong relationships with clients and respond professionally to service enquiries.
- Work closely with the Service team to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, WHS requirements and company procedures.
- Maintain testing equipment, tools and company vehicle in a safe and serviceable condition.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in the fire protection inspection and testing industry.
- Strong knowledge of fire detection systems, EWIS, emergency and exit lighting, and passive fire protection.
- Sound understanding of AS1851, AS2293 and other relevant Australian Standards.
- Experience using Uptick (or similar field service software) and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
