Role Description This part-time remote Integration Engineer / API Developer role at Lab of Tomorrow focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining robust integrations between internal and external systems. The person in this role will develop and optimize APIs, create and manage integration workflows, and ensure data flows are secure, reliable, and efficient. Day-to-day activities include analyzing integration requirements, implementing software components, debugging and resolving integration issues, and improving existing system architectures.

The role also involves collaborating with product, engineering, and operations teams to understand technical needs, document integration specifications, and provide guidance on best practices and scalability. Continuous improvement of integration performance, monitoring, and documentation will be key responsibilities.

Qualifications

Strong analytical skills to interpret technical requirements, model data flows, and make sound engineering decisions.

Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing integration and API-related issues across distributed systems.





Hands-on experience with software development, including coding, testing, and deploying APIs or microservices.

Practical knowledge of integration concepts and tools, such as RESTful APIs, webhooks, message queues, or ETL pipelines.

Background in systems engineering, including understanding of system architecture, scalability, reliability, and security considerations.

Familiarity with common programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar) and version control systems (e.g., Git).

Experience working with cloud platforms or containerization technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.

Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders and document integration solutions effectively.

Self-directed, organized, and able to manage part-time work from home with minimal supervision.

Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is advantageous.
