We are seeking a talented and highly organised FF&E; Specialist & Interior Designer to join our growing team.
About the Role
As our FF&E; Specialist & Interior Designer, you will be responsible for developing interior design and furniture solutions, preparing specifications, coordinating procurement, managing project delivery and maintaining strong supplier relationships. This is a design-focused role with significant responsibility for furniture specification, procurement, budgeting, supplier management and project delivery.
Working closely with clients, consultants, builders and suppliers, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest design standards.
Key Responsibilities
Interior Design & FF&E;
- Develop interior design concepts, furniture layouts and FF&E; specifications.
- Prepare design documentation and presentations using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Select furniture, finishes, materials and accessories.
- Create finish boards and presentation materials.
- Ensure all designs align with project objectives and company standards.
Project Delivery & Coordination
- Manage projects from briefing through to completion.
- Coordinate timelines, stakeholders, suppliers and consultants.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules and deliverables.
- Prepare quotations and ensure accuracy of specifications, quantities and pricing.
- Maintain project documentation and approvals.
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Coordinate furniture procurement, supplier orders and delivery schedules.
- Manage supplier relationships and trade accounts.
- Review shop drawings and product submissions.
- Resolve procurement and logistics issues as required.
Financial & Commercial Management
- Prepare client quotations and furniture cost plans.
- Audit quotations against FF&E; schedules pricing and design documentation.
- Monitor project budgets,
expenditure and profitability.
- Manage Purchase Orders (POs), supplier invoices, client invoices and remittances through the company accounting system.
- Ensure all project financial records are accurate, up to date and aligned with project budgets.
- Coordinate with suppliers and clients to resolve any pricing, invoicing or payment discrepancies.
Site Delivery & Quality Assurance
- Attend site visits and oversee furniture deliveries and installations.
- Inspect products for quality, accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Coordinate project handover and completion.
- Arrange project photography and project close-out activities (finishing touches, handover).
Product & Finishes Expertise
- Research cutting-edge furniture, materials and finishes.
- Maintain the finishes library and product sample collection.
- Share product knowledge and industry trends with the team.
Finishes Library Management
- Prepare finish boards and material presentations.
- Maintain and organise the finishes library.
- Manage samples, catalogues and supplier information.
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
- Qualification in Interior Design or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in Interior Design and/or FF&E; specification.
- Strong AutoCAD and Revit skills.
- Experience preparing FF&E; schedules and furniture specifications.
- Strong understanding of furniture procurement and supplier management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management skills and teamwork.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- High attention to detail and commercial awareness.
Desirable
- Experience within education, workplace, community, commercial projects, Childcare centre's.
- Experience managing project budgets and quotations.
- Knowledge of procurement, installation and project delivery processes.
