Investment Accountant and Operations Manager Accounting and Finance | Fund Accounting and Investment Operations Melbourne | Full time, office based | $130,000 to $150,000 total package An Australian investment manager is appointing an Investment Accountant and Operations Manager to own its fund and investor data end to end. The role reports directly to the CFO and sits across finance and operations by design, so discrepancies are resolved at the source rather than passed between teams.

The Role
- Reviews and signs off investor interest, distribution and allocation calculations, and verifies loan interest on settlements, drawdowns and repayments
- Owns reconciliations across the investment management system, Xero and external reports, investigating and resolving complex discrepancies
- Prepares fund modelling, including cashflow forecasting and scenario analysis, and produces fund level performance analytics
- Leads preparation of the funds' half year and full year statutory accounts,



working closely with auditors and the Finance Manager
- Oversees investor and loan transaction workflows, and the timely issuance of investor and borrower statements
- Owns the operational risk and control workplace, identifying, logging and resolving operational incidents
- Acts as internal owner and subject matter expert for the investment management system, including the vendor relationship and system integration with CRM
- Leads and develops an Operations and Accounts Assistant, setting standards and building capability

Background Required
- CA or CPA qualified, with three to five years across fund accounting and investment or funds operations, or a closely related financial services background
- Demonstrated experience leading, developing and managing a team
- Strong systems capability, including advanced Excel and Xero, with subject matter expertise in a loan or investment management platform
- Comfortable owning an operational risk and control environment, and confident working to tight transaction and reporting deadlines
- Exposure to fund modelling, statutory accounts, investor reporting or unit pricing is well regarded
