IR / HR Manager – Snowy 2.0 | FIFO / DIDO 14:7

ATB Riva Calzoni is seeking an experienced IR / HR Manager to lead the industrial relations and human resources function across ATB's scope of works on the Snowy 2.0 Project.

This role will suit a senior IR / HR leader with deep experience in major construction, engineering, mining, resources or infrastructure projects who thrives in complex stakeholder environments and can balance strategic leadership with hands-on operational delivery.

ATB Riva Calzoni (ATB) is a long‑established industrial construction company headquartered in Italy and operating in more than 100 countries. We specialise in the design, manufacturing, supply, installation and commissioning of penstocks and hydromechanical equipment for major hydropower projects.

As the primary supplier of penstocks and steel linings for Snowy 2.0, we combine global expertise with local capability, maintaining direct control over fabrication while maximising on‑site manufacturing and preassembly operations.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading all Industrial Relations and Human Resources activities. You will provide strategic guidance to senior leaders while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, enterprise agreements, immigration requirements and project obligations.

You will play a critical role in maintaining productive employee and union relationships, managing workforce compliance and supporting the delivery of project objectives through effective people management practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead all project IR activities, including union engagement, rights of entry, dispute resolution and industrial risk management.
- Interpret and administer enterprise agreements and employment instruments.




- Drive compliance with workplace relations legislation and contractual obligations.
- Develop and implement HR and workforce strategies aligned to project requirements.
- Provide expert IR and HR advice to project leadership and site teams.
- Lead employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
- Represent or support matters before the Fair Work Commission and other regulatory bodies.
- Oversee workforce planning, capability development and succession planning.
- Promote a positive, respectful and high-performing workplace culture.
- Manage domestic and international recruitment and mobilisation activities.
- Oversee visa, work rights and immigration compliance for expatriate employees.
- Manage expatriate relocation programs, including accommodation, orientation and assignment support.
- Ensure robust HR governance, reporting, systems, compliance and data integrity.
- Oversee payroll governance and workforce compliance requirements.

About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential Experience

- 10+ years' experience in senior Industrial Relations and Human Resources leadership roles.
- Significant experience within civil construction, infrastructure sectors, engineering or project-based environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing rights of entry, union relationships and industrial relations issues.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation,



Fair Work frameworks and enterprise agreements.
- Experience handling complex employee relations matters and workplace disputes.
- Experience supporting geographically dispersed workforces across multiple sites.

Highly Regarded

- Enterprise bargaining experience.
- Experience representing matters before the Fair Work Commission.
- Experience managing international workforces, visas and expatriate employment arrangements.
- AHRI accreditation (CAHRI / CPHR).

Qualifications & Licences

- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, Law or a related discipline.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- White Card.

Working Setting The role is based between our Cooma office and the Snowy 2.0 construction site at Lobs Hole in Kosciuszko National Park. The region experiences alpine conditions, including regular winter snowfall, and operates within a highly regulated environmental setting.
